The Activity Instructor (STEM Specialist) will facilitate age appropriate science, technology, engineering and math activities to ensure that the program adheres to the curriculum and best youth development practice. Reports to: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, BEACON MS 45 Location: 2502 Lorillard Place, Bronx, New York 10458 Hours: Up to 15 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt Major Duties: Manage and prepare activities in all areas of the STEM curriculum. Responsible for facilitating and assisting Group Leaders with the implementation of all STEM activities. Instruct robotics, cooking matters and other curricula for designated groups. Work closely with the Education Specialist to develop, monitor and implement STEM lesson plans in alignment with OST goals and common core standards. Attend cluster group leader meetings with Educational Specialist. Attend training on STEM curricula and follow up with utilization of technical assistance. Work along with the Literacy teacher and assist in coordinating educational projects for the program. Assist the Program Director with reporting and tracking all STEM activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Some college credits. Must have experience managing enrichment projects. Must be computer literate. Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development perspective.
