The Group Leader will be responsible for the overall leadership, planning and implementation of an after-school group for K-12 youth, including integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group building activities. Reports to: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, AFTER SCHOOL AT SBAAM Location: 778 Forest Ave, Bronx, New York 10456 Hours: 18 hours, non-exempt Major Duties: Plan and conduct integrated learning, recreational, arts and developmental activities for youth. Supervise all program participants at all times. Complete and monitor required documentation. Participate in training and staff development activities. Create and implement lesson plans for all activities. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications: High School diploma required; minimum of two years of college in related field preferred. Able to lead and participate in group sports and recreation. Experience in developing group lesson plans or integrated learning packages. Must have a commitment to working with youth from a strength based and/or youth development perspective. Ability to work with students from various social, cultural and educational levels. Ability to work independently in an environment that requires close tracking of participants progress.
